Clarion Call: August 2026
Steve Paysen Ministries Newsletter
It is always fun to tell the story that God is writing. P230 Foundation is a God story. He initiated this work in 2013 and by faith we have trusted what the scripture tells us in Philippians 1:6 “And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
The really fun part about this is getting to watch from the front row. Over the last 13 years, we have seen over 42,000 people give their life to Christ. Just in the last 6 weeks, we have seen over 100 souls saved. Let me help you understand the structure under which Steve Paysen Ministries operates. P230 Foundation is the sending organization that sponsors Steve Paysen Ministries as well as other missionaries who are serving the Lord all over the world. Steve Paysen Ministries became our brand in 2022 to help us to better promote our mission.
One thing I have learned is that the adventure of following God always brings the supernatural to life. Let me explain how this played out recently. For years, Julie and I have discussed the question “what’s next?” in the next stage of life. Retirement has never been a thought of ours as we don’t see it in scripture, the question has always been where is our next Mission? When Julie got sick with cancer, these questions took on more weight. We sensed a need to commit to whatever God wanted us to do, no questions asked. We basically laid our lives on an altar, just like Isiah and once again said, “here we are Lord send us wherever you want us to go!” Please understand these words are not spoken lightly, but they are exciting to us because we know God will answer this prayer every time. For those of you that don’t know, we made the call early on in the journey of Julie’s cancer, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, to let our Board of Directors know Julie would step down from her position as President of the Chamber of Commerce here in Toccoa/Stephens County, Georgia. We were fully aware of the implications financially and to our family. However, we also knew God‘s plan would be perfect, we just needed to wait on Him to reveal it...and He did! We didn’t put conditions on our commitment, we knew a relocation might be involved, but we didn’t know where or what the mission would look like other than it would be Gospel-centric.
For 13 years I’ve had the privilege of serving in Bell County Kentucky. For many of those years I served alongside one of my best friends, Mark Elkins. Mark was a church planter in Bell County, Kentucky when I met him. Just like any other church planter, he faced many struggles and challenges. I have come to recognize in my journey through ministry that my gifting as an Evangelist is a great asset to church planters because it helps them reach people, and that’s exactly what we did in Bell County, Kentucky. Over the years of serving there we have seen over 1000 people give their life to Christ at outreach events serving the church. Some of you have gone on those trips with us. Julie has always had an affinity for the area and a heart for the children in the area as well. For those who don’t know, Bell County Kentucky is one of the poorest counties in our nation and is surrounded by communities that are even more impoverished. Since 2010, they have lost over 8000 jobs associated with the loss of the coal industry. Going forward, Julie‘s main responsibility in our ministry is the Appalachian Ministries. She will also oversee all the marketing and promotion, and booking for Steve Paysen Ministries, but her heart and her focus is for the people of Southeastern Kentucky.

Please pray for us as we begin the process of moving our family to Kentucky in the summer of 2027, allowing Eli to finish his 10th grade year here and us time to get our house ready to sell. Please also pray about joining our team of financial supporters as we fill SOME of the gap we have given up with Julie’s departure from the Chamber of Commerce to join Steve Paysen Ministries full-time. There are so many details to be shared in the near future, but the Lord is already moving in a mighty way! Thank you for your prayers and financial support.
